Personal data protection law

Another important issue relates to the ORGANIC LAW FOR PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION, which was published in Official Gazette Supplement 459 on May 26, 2021 and is currently in force. This law aims to guarantee the right to personal data protection and in the scope of material application that will be applied to managing personal data contained on any medium, whether automatized or not, as well as to any other subsequently mode.

Please note that all provisions relating to corrective measures and sanctions will go into effect two years after the law went into effect (which was on May 26, 2021) (First Transitional Provision).
